C1808 sword. Rapier style sword of Captain John Chrystie. Maker hallmark under guard R.T.W. Throat has a family inscription added inscribed: John Chrystie / Captain / 5th / Pennsylvania / Regiment / 1777. It has  finely detailed and small knights helmet with plume, a "P" shaped knucklebow with attached ring for a saber knot. The grip is carved ebony. It has a blue and gold triangular blade in the rapier style. The scabbard is triangular wood body with leather covering. The gilt mounts are engraved with the ID inscription on the top mount
