College Hill Arsenal S/F Sword - etched blade.  A long carried sword, from the College Hill Arsenal in Nashville Tenn.  Nashville fell in 1862 so this is a very early sword.
Typical traits are penknife false ricasso and a undecorated pommel.  Oil cloth grip and crude wire are in nice shape as well as the original blade washer. Steel scabbard with slight angle cut mounts and drag. Scabbard demonstrates wear as the drag is dented and worn to the scabbard body. The screws for the top mount and  drag have been long gone.  Mounts and scabbard have taken on a dark patina.  Blade is gray and the etch is very faint.  Etch appears to be cross hatching, military motifs and floral
Overall a carried Confederate officer sword in untouched condition.

Two branch College Hill guard. Note the long quillon
