Item # BRG302   -  J. Henry & Son Rifle Saber Bayonet dated 1860
Ames Manufacturing Co. also fits Whitney Price: US $1,450       Qty Required

20 inch Blade has the scroll mark -Ames Mfg. Co. Chicopee, Mass. on the reverse side and the date 1860 on the obverse. A very rare bayonet and scarce date. There is a G / 6 stamped on top of the muzzle ring -This number was used to match the bayonet to the gun that it was fitted to. These were all hand fitted and the number kept the bayonets from getting separated from the gun. It is also stamped  97 on the cross guard. Blade is gray with some minor pitting toward the tip. A very hard example to find.

Origin: Chicopee, Mass.      Maker: Ames Mfg. Co      Year: 1860      Model: Saber      Size: 20 in blade      Condition: VG-Exc
