This button was regulaton for the Army of the Confederate States, adopted in 1861. *For General Officers and Officers of the General Staff---bright gilt, rounded at edge, convex, raised eagle in the center, with 11 six-pointed stars surrounding it-large size - 26mm, one inch in exterior diameter. Army Officer the eagle device, with the letters C.S.A. on the shield, on a lined field, 2-piece with border. Back mark is S. Issacs Campbell & Co/London/St. James St.
