Minty - Ames Manufacturing Company Militia Officer's sword. This sword boasts a gilt Knight's Helmet pommel  with double chain guard attached along with flat slab mother of pearl grips. The cruciform guard is again gilt with a deep stipple effect. The oval cross-section blade is double edged with a small center fuller running 11.5 inches. The super etched blade on the frost background has acorns & oak leaves, a stand of American flags with a Liberty cap and the reverse has similar foliate with a stand of arms, an American eagle with E. P. U. and sun rays. The gilt brass scabbard double top rings and a single middle ring. The drag is of the shoe type. The scabbard is engraved with stylistic designs and stamped on the reverse Ames Mfg. Co. / Chicopee / Mass.
