Top Model 1832 General / Officers sword. The gilt brass guard is boat shaped. The grip is silver. The blade is engraved N. P. Ames / Cutler / Springfield. The engraved brass scabbard has an attached plaque "N. P. Ames / Cutler / Springfield. Middle There are two swords shown here. Both are Model 1840 General / Officers swords. Both are made by Horstmann and have engraved blades with US, stars, and trophies. The first one has an engraved brass scabbard and the lower one has a black leather scabbard with brass mounts. Bottom Uniquely crafted presentation sword belonging to a Civil War General. The pommel cap is in the figure of a bearded Officer wearing a Jeff Davis hat with a plume. It has an open work guard with American eagle and sunburst. The grips are carved from mother of pearl. The blade is imported and is engraved with a large US. The presentation is on the decorated brass scabbard. |
