This is the fifth example known of this rare Confederate
carbine. It has a Brass frame similar to the Sharps
model 1859. The rest of the weapon is made from Hall carbine parts. This could be the Confederate Patent #154 that was issued to N. T. Read for a breach loading firearm. |
