Condition:
A type I Artillery Officer with recessed guard to accommodate the scabbard. The gilt brass hilt has the decorated quillon, knuckle bow and pommel cap. The grip is leather with gilt wire wrap. The blade etch begins with a spray, cross hatching and N.P. Ames / Cutler / Springfield, a stand of arms and U.S. flags with Liberty Cap, foliate, American Eagle with E. PU, stars and another spray and finishes in foliate. The reverse has foliate, ancient arms, First Regiment/ Tenn. Vol. Infantry Tecumseh (Indian warrior) and foliate. The scabbard is plain steel with an "E" at the throat, thin ring bands and no inspector markings
