Captain Robert Chisolm C.S.A.  Jacket

The short jacket is a darker, gray wool, with a lay down collar containing the three gold bullion bars signifying the rank of captain. It is trimmed with dark blue piping. The cuffs are trimmed in the blue along with a double row of gold continuing around the sleeve and up the back of the sleeve to the elbow, this is surrounding a row of brass beads running the full length. These were often called "Battle Beads" and were intended to show from the rear, that this was an officer. The lining is woven wool, tan in color with linen sleeve lining. The coat has double rows of 10 buttons. They are CS 36 Staff officer marked T&B Manchester.
