The capture of President Jefferson Davis (While wearing a lady's shawl). In a notarized letter dating from September 6th, 1910 Caspar Knobel states that: "THIS (Spencer) CARBINE WAS CARRIED BY ME WHEN I CAPTURED JEFFERSON DAVIS, PRESIDENT OF THE SOUTHERN CONFEDERACY, ON THE MORNING OF MAY 10TH 1865 AT ABBYVILLE, GEORGIA. SWORN TO BY ME Caspar Knobel of, Late A Company, 4th Michigan Cavalry."
